WTF? This game can be yours for just under $8500 (scroll to the bottom of the page). Now I dunno about you, but that's gotta be money well spent, right? :lol If you're not willing to shell out that much, you can get a standup version for about half that price, but it doesn't come with that pic of 7 of 9 on the side :sad

Played it. It's really dumb. It's a first person shooter where you run around the ship shooting Borg.
And no, they never adapt.
For cheese value, I can't imagine a more priceless item for my fantasy arcade. Yes, I said fantasy arcade. Fuck you.

Ok, now I gotta ask: what else would be in your fantasy arcade? This is actually a good question, cause I'm dorky enough to have my own answers (Tournament Cyberball, Empire Strikes Back, Tron, 4-player Gauntlet, Ms. Pac-Man, Street Fighter II, and Robotron, in case Milkshake ever came over).
Come on, everyone weigh in with what games would be in their fantasy arcade (kudos to Lambro for coining that term :thumbsup).

Is the resolution just that crappy or are 7 of 9's boobs pixelated on taht picture?
oh and: Pac-Man, Ms Pac-man (I missed out on the early arcade games in the US) Area 51, and uhm... oh crap what's it called? Tekken? It's like street fighter, just better :lol

Robotron, my evil nemesis :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup
Toobin' :thumbsup
Funhouse (pinball) :thumbsup
Star Wars (the vector one) :thumbsup:thumbsup
Star Castle :thumbsup
Mappy :thumbsup
Event Horizon :thumbsup
wait, there never was an "Event Horizon" game. pity, that.
here's another question, which movies/television shows beg for an arcade game version. and/or, which games beg to be updated with new graphics? i vote for 'Crazy Climber' as a game that could be done in a really cool, first-person way with modern graphics. and please, no 'Jackass' game.

Milkshake, did you notice if you follow that Robotron link I posted and have shockwave installed on your browser (it's free) you can play Robotron online? If you play it displays the top scores by everyone, and so I fully expect if you play to get the #1 top score. Get crackin', mister!

dragon's lair is awesome but i have a permanent resentment against it for all the millions of dollars i poured into the thing just to see more of the killer animation.

You know they put Dragon's Lair out on DVD a couple years ago. I remember seeing Jon Simon playing it way back when on his DVD player :lol

It's one thing to play it on a DVD, it's another to actually play it on an arcade machine. :thumbsup

Don't forget the followup to Dragon's Lair (the fantasy adventure where you control the action). It was called Space Ace, and was a little easier to play. I remember because I lasted longer than 30 seconds on it at a time.
Sorry, Will, I had to blow this open a little bit and posted an entry on Ponnerbell to open it up to the masses over there. Hope you don't mind.

Ms. Pac Man, Popeye, Q-Bert and Crystal Castles (I seem to be the only person who remembers that game - you were a little bear wandering around picking up crystals and trying to avoid these weird caterpillar things, and the buzzing beehive. Music from the Nutcracker Suite in the background. Anyone...?)

I remember Space Ace because when I was in Jr. High some kid in my class had a birthday party and they had rented the game for the party and had it rigged where you didn't need quarters to play it. I thought that was the coolest thing ever :biggrin
No problem about the entry, it definitely was a question that deserved its own entry like that. :thumbsup to Matt for coming up with that idea :lol

Popeye was pretty sweet. I would love it when I'd eat the spinach and then go kick Bluto's ass. I also forgot to add Burgertime & Galaga to my fantasy arcade, and Drew's suggestion of Spy Hunter over on John's blog was a good one as well. I also remember playing something called APB a lot when I was a kid. Man, I'm so bummed I don't have the cash to put together a fantasy arcade :sad

i so definitely remember Crystal Castles and am man enough to admit that i love everything about that game. yeah, it's not the most macho game, but damn i fed it endless quarters and/or tokens.
imho, Space Ace was more difficult than Dragon's Lair. am i alone in that?
