Purring Like a Cat

Friday's quote was apparently so easy that you guys were annoyed (or just wanted to give me shit for making it too easy). However, when the quotes have been too difficult I have a hard time knowing if anyone's even participating because people don't generally post comments saying "I dunno". So here's the question: which is better, when the quotes are easy or tough? Tough or easy, here's today's clip:

clue #1

Update - No one's guessed it yet so here's the next clip:

clue #2

Update #2 - I "lured" J-Krue into guessing Catwoman (you should always say "lure" like Alec Baldwin in The Edge, by the way), but since that's not the right answer here's another clip:

clue #3

Update #3 - Drew got today's answer, even if he didn't come out and say it :lol so that's in the comments if you want to check it out. Here's the rest of the clips if you want to still try to figure it out on your own:

clue #4, clue #5, clue #6, clue #7, clue #8, clue #9

elvispanda:

The Renny Harlin classic "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane"?

fhqwhgads:

They're all just jealous because they lost.

Yams:

It's not Ford Fairlane (although I'm gonna have to do that one someday :lol), and Matt is right, everyone else is just jealous :smile There's a new clip up, maybe it'll help.

J-Krue:

The second quote sounds a lot like Halle Berry. I haven't seen this movie but it could be Catwoman -- but then maybe that would be too easy in the context of the first quote....

Yams:

Yes! I got someone to guess Catwoman! Unfortunately that's the wrong answer, but maybe the next clip will help :smile

drew:

It is indeed Halle Berry! Stripper Halle Berry pre-plastic surgery...in one of the top five action comedies of all time, if not #1. I'll shaddup now and give everybody else a fair shake at it.

P.S. Yup Panda, it's me. No prob on the scripts. :) In fact, you can check out a transcript of this very movie right here. Only after somebody else names the film, naturally.

Yams:

Uh, spoilers below I guess..?

Does that count as guessing the name of the movie correctly? :lol I think I'm gonna have to go to the judges on that one. Yep, the judges say putting a link to the script of the movie is good enough, so Drew is the winner, The Last Boyscout is the correct answer! My inspiration for using this movie was without question the Halle Berry "if I was a cat I would purr" line, considering she later did Catwoman and I wanted to see if I could get someone to mistakenly guess that. Good job, Drew.

By the way, when I did the Google search for "drew" you were #5, not #7 (although I guess you would have been #7 if you included the 2 sublinked pages). Too bad that Elvispanda's (we call him Milkshake) favorite Drew, Drew Barrymore, is higher on the list; but then again, that's why Milkshake is such a big fan :lol

Also, I gotta give "mad props" to Shane Black for that script you linked to, Drew. He was great in Predator. Also, give credit to the casting director (or whomever) for the odd casting of Taylor Negron as the bad guy (as signified by his line "I am the bad guy").

Ponnerbell:

How weird is that I just made a comment about The Last Boy Scout on my blog a few minutes ago without even playing yet??

Shane Black rules!

J-Krue:

Good job, Drew. Shane Black rules. I look forward to "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang."

elvispanda:

weird! i just watched another shane black endeavor 'the long kiss goodnight' yesterday (for the first time).

i will definitely read that transcript, thanks! shoot, i even own this movie on laserdisc and had no idea about those clips. guess it's time to view it again. damn you, terrible!
