Goodbye, Cookie

Man, it's been a tiring week, and I am glad for the weekend. Today is Cookie's last day at my company, as he is following Matt over to Matt's new place of employment. Slowly but surely all my friends at work are leaving :sad Hopefully Cookie will keep in touch with us all, because we all know what the Chinese say... Anyway, happy Friday everyone, here's today's quiz:

clue #1

Update - It's Friday and I've got a lot of clips from today's movie, so here's another one:

I hope Dave picks Wendy's for lunch. I would love to see forty people pile into a fast food joint. It would be even funnier to see Orly...oh that's right, she doesn't attend going away lunches for longtime employees. Ron's giving a lecture at Crispy Creme on the parralels between his popularity and the Presidents.

Well, tell Dave goodbye for me. He'll be missed.

Yams:

:lol Actually we're going to your favorite, the Market City Cafe (must bring back memories, huh?). Lunch is at 12:30, RSVP to Tom if you're interested :smile Also, I think Ron may have already come in for his day at work this month, so I don't know if we'll be seeing him around again till November.

By the way, Dave reads this, he just never comments :angry

Oh, the vision of Angelina Jolie in that motorcycle jacket. :)
that would be Hackers.
I'm on a roll.

And do the Chinese say?

Jessica Simpson :thumbsup
Ashlee Simpson :thumbsdown
Fiona Apple :thumbsup:thumbsup
Lindsay Lohan :thumbsdown

A-LO:

btw, I ran into Ron in the hall the other day, and after the usual over-the-top greeting, he commented, "So, Dave's leaving, huh? That makes it 100% turnover down there."

Insert my meaningful silence here... (I'm sure it's just a coincidence all these people are leaving, right?)

Apologies to Dave, but I'm going to have to skip lunch - the Market City Cafe kind of gives me hives. VAYA CON DIOS, SENOR!

Yams:

Riggs is right, Hackers is the correct answer. Man, for a while I could sorta get away with using movies like this that I know I like, and my old school friends liked, but which I knew my more recent friends probably hadn't seen. But now that Riggs is checking in, I probably shouldn't use movies such as Hackers and PCU and the like :lol

Regarding what the Chinese say, I dunno about all those people you gave :thumbsup & :thumbsdown to, Mr. Nuts, but for those who don't know, Cookie got his name from Mr. Bell who gave it to him after having to listen to the menus for Men With Honor looping over and over. Robert DeNiro called Cuba Gooding, Jr. 'Cookie' in the movie, and so John began calling Dave that: "You know what the Chinese say, Cookie..."

And for A-Lo, leave it to Ron to have a "joke" for the fact that the entire co-ordination department has quit in the year since we moved offices. That's funny stuff! :roll

Also, better to get hives than the hivvies :biggrin

fhqwhgads:

Rоn Mạrtín. Runs a business into the ground while calling it "exciting" and pocketing huge bucks. Slippery. Inapropriately glib. Hardly ever on the job. Stupid hair. The perfect Republican. He should run for office.

Yams:

Is he as glib as Matt Lauer though, that is the question :lol

elvispanda:

Angelina Jolie :thumbsdown
A-Lo :thumbsup
Preston Sturges :thumbsup
Microsoft :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

Yams:

Actually, back during her Hacker days, Angelina Jolie should get a :thumbsup Gia and Foxfire also deserve the :thumbsup where Angelina is concerned. It's been pretty much :thumbsdown's ever since then for her though (possible exception for Girl Interrupted, although since it's since come out she's actually crazy, I don't know how much she was "acting" in that one :lol).

Ponnerbell:

I just wanted to give the USS Cookie a fond sendoff, and wish him luck in his new surroundings. Good luck, Cookie!! The herd must be getting pretty thin, but we'll always have Moes.

Ponnerbell:

Does this mean that Cookie will now put comments on our blogs?

iendive:

Matt, you want us to say goodbye to Coockie for you, but you should really just be saying hello to him on monday for us! I hear it's going to be the two of you with your desks across from each otehr in a room... just like the good ole DVCC days huh?

Ciao!
