Last night I went with Van Lambro to see The Squid and the Whale at the Arclight, and afterwards the director, Noah Baumbach, along with the actors Jeff Daniels, Laura Linney, Billy Baldwin and Jesse Eisenberg all spoke and did the Q&A thing. The movie was quite good, even though it was rather short (IMDB lists it as 80 minutes), and I would recommend it for people who are a fan of Wes Anderson movies as it somewhat reminded me of them (and Anderson produced it, which may be a reason for that). It is a "dramadey", but it was generally more funny than serious, although it deals with divorce, so there is definitely some seriousness to it.
This has been kind of a crazy week of movies for me. In the last seven days I've seen Thumbsucker, A History of Violence, The Thing About My Folks, North Country and The Squid and the Whale. Also in the last week I've seen a variety of celebrities: Peter Falk, Charlize Theron, Niki Caro and the people listed above. Also, J-Krue pointed out Giovanni Ribisi at the Arclight at one point, but he was just there seeing a movie I think. Anyway, out of all of those movies, I think that The Squid and the Whale was my favorite, even though it definitely had the worst title.
Anyway, enough about that, here's today's quiz:

Way to go, Mr. Riggs, The Lost Boys is correct! I was about to start teasing people for not getting this one already, since I thought it was pretty damn obvious. I knew you'd know this one though, Dave. I put up the rest of the clips, so check 'em out if you wanna hear Corey Haim and Grandpa bitching and moaning.
By the way, did anyone else notice in that movie how Corey Haim had a poster of Rob Lowe with his chest partially exposed in a "sexy" pose hanging in his bedroom? Maybe that's a clue as to why he was really spending so much time hanging around with the Frog brothers...
