Short Week

It's Friday already, how fantastic is that? Seems like we just had a weekend, and now, lo and behold, we've got another one :smile I almost think that what I like most about a long weekend is that you get a short week as a result, moreso than just getting that extra day off. Anyway, it's my goal again to try to present a tough movie for the weekend so that it doesn't get answered before 11 am like yesterday's was (good job again, Mr. Bell :smile). So hopefully today's will provide a little more of a challenge, here you go:

clue #1

Update - Nobody's guessed it yet, so here's the next clip:

clue #2

Update #2 - The answer is still out there, eluding everyone, so here is the next clip:

clue #3

Update #3 - Everyone must be stumped, and I probably won't get another chance to provide any more clues tonight, so here's another clip for you:

clue #4

Update #4 - It's Saturday and nobody's guessed it yet, so here's the next clip:

fhqwhgads:

Mannequin.
Mannequin 2: On the Move.

J-Krue:

I don't know what movie this is from yet - for some reason I was thinking Hudson Hawk - but the rant sounds like it's being spoken by the dude who was the angry, spittle-producing father in those Twisted Sister videos.

Yams:

While I can neither confirm nor deny the Twisted Sister father (I don't recall him), I can tell you it's not Hudson Hawk nor is it one of the Mannequin movies. I put the next clue up, see if it helps :smile

Ponnerbell:

The father was Mark Metcalf who played Doug Neidermeyer in Animal House (according to Dean Wormer he's a sneaky little shit). He also played Aquilla Beckersted in One Crazy Summer.

My intial guess was Johnny Mneumonic. Never saw it, but that's my guess for 10 points.

Yams:

Nope, not Keanu Mnemonic, sorry. But I gave another clue to help so there you go :smile

As for Mark Metcalf playing the role of the dad in the video for "I Wanna Rock", Twisted Sister I think has a hard-on for that guy, because if you listen close during the end of "We're Not Gonna Take It" you can hear Dee Snyder quoting Neidermeyer's speech he gives to the ROTC candidates from Animal House: "you're all worthless and weak, now drop and give me twenty..." I'd forgotten all about them getting Metcalf to play the dad in that video, who asks "What do you want to do with your life?" which of course provokes the response "I wanna rock!"

iendive:

While you were sleeping?
Maid in Manhattan?!?
Am I close?

Yams:

Nope, sorry Pao-Pao, it's neither of those; and since I've never seen either of those, I don't really know how close you are. I put another clue up though, hope that helps :smile

fhqwhgads:

The Whole Nine Yards?

iendive:

Seriously, I have no fucking clue, except that now I'm kinda curious to see this movie. Is that last one Al Pacino? I was promised a mistery date with him being one of five hopefuls.... but none of them has called me yet :roll

drew:

#3 combined with #5 gave it to me! "You're a freak..." was throwing me off because I thought it was Shatner in a cameo. And #5 sounds like Jackie Gleason. And I'm relatively sure they've never been a flick together. But after playing #5 over and over, I realized it was John Lithgow. And it clicked that it wasn't Shatner at all, but a person DOING Shatner. Best person to do Shatner is Kevin Pollack. Long story short...

Ricochet. My favorite movie that has a fella shot up with drugs (heroin?) and forced to have videotaped sex with a not-altogether-unattractive yet disease-ridden hooker to cause him shame and persistent itching.

Of course, if I'm wrong, this speech would be a tad embarrassing...

Yams:

Drew is correct, Riccochet is the right answer! I've put up the rest of the clues for everyone else to listen to. Good job, Drew :smile You were absolutely correct about the Shatner impression being done by Kevin Pollack (just like clue #6 is Pollack doing a Columbo impression). Even though Riccochet isn't exactly a good movie, for me it's very much a guilty pleasure. John Lithgow is probably even more over the top in it than he is in Cliffhanger, and then you've got Denzel Washington with a mustache (how weird is that?!). You throw in Pollack, Ice-T, Jesse Ventura, Lindsay Wagner, etc., and you've got a classically entertaining bad movie :lol

Ponnerbell:

I don't think I would have ever gotten that one. 10 points for Drew.

fhqwhgads:

Never saw it.

iendive:

doesn't ring a bell.... are you sure it's not Maid In Manhattan?

fhqwhgads:

Holy crap! "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" is already up to $30,200,000, and it's only Sunday morning. Those two guys we saw must be having a good weekend. I just wish I'd liked the film more.
