Nooooo!

Since I didn't post a review for Episode III yet, I figure I'll just link to the review I left on IMDB so if anyone wants to see what I thought, then there you go. If you don't want to go there, my really short review is that I didn't like it too much. Anyway, there's a now-famous hilarious scene in it in which Darth Vader raises his fists to the sky and yells out "Nooooo!", and this prompted me wondering what are some other great similar moments in movies? I can come up with a couple:

- Luke at the end of Empire when he finds out that Darth Vader is his father yells out "Nooooo!"

- Patrick Stewart when told to "blow up the damn ship!" in Star Trek First Contact yells "Nooooo!" and then destroys a display case filled with his little ships.

- Jean Claude Van Damme in both Bloodsport or Kickboxer right before his buddy gets killed in the ring, in each movie he yells out "Nooooo!" while apparently trying to ward off the death with the palm of his hand.

- Lance Henriksen is so upset at losing his biological weapon at the end of Alien 3 when Ripley jumps off the ledge into the furnace that he yells "Nooooo!" as she falls to her death below.

What are some other good ones? Got a favorite from the list above?

By the way, here's a quite genius and hilarious dance song remixed with clips of the music from the original Star Wars trilogy and clips from Darth Vader and the Emperor: I Am Your Father (Vader Remix)

Terrible, truly terrible!

Oh you rat bastard! NOOOOOOO!

cookie:

Final shot of Evil Dead 2. Ash looks up to the heavens after being transported to the middle ages...

J-Krue:

Ed Harris pulls a major "Nooooo!" when M.E. Mastrontonio croaks in The Abyss, just before he implausibly revives her.

Also, when Superman is cradling Lois Lane after her car is swallowed by the Earth, I think he might scream "Noooo!" Or maybe he just lets out a guttural scream. Either way, he also implausibly revives her.

Ponnerbell:

Lest we forget that Jimmy Smits also let rip a loud, "Nooooooo!" when he was at the Jedi Temple. What could have been genius is if David Caruso was cast as Bail Organa and instead they borrowed from that fantastic push in on him from Session 9. You know, the classic badasssss, "Hey, fuck you."

I was talking about ROTS with a friend of mine at work, and at the fateful moment in the movie he said some guy sitting next to him in the theater said, "I waited 25 years for that?"

fhqwhgads:

Dude, in neither Bloodsport or Kickboxer did the guys die after Van Damme screaming "Nooooo!" In both cases they were hospitalized in Asian hospitals where Asian doctors said either, "he'll never walk again" (Kickboxer) or "you're friend is lucky to be alive" (Bloodsport). Each of these moments were followed quickly with 80's style montages about Van Damme pondering revenge, life and karate-boom boom. The training montages came later. God I love those movies. Get your Van Dammage facts straight potato man. :angry

Yams:

Actually, I've never seen either movie (sad, I know :nono). However, I read that there is also a similar scene in The Quest (another movie I've never seen). Is this true?

Uhhh, someone's been slacking on their blogging...

Quit posting pics of the Ditty Bops!

Okay, I posted photos of pornstars instead! How do you like them apples?!
