Man if this website and this website are right, we're fucked. Between Peak Oil, John Titor's predictions and the Yellowstone Supervolcano, odds are good that we're gonna be in deep shit soon. The fact that Goldman Sachs predicted oil prices could jump to $105 a barrel is not a good sign for those who have been predicting that Peak Oil is going to leave us all in a crisis state very soon :uhoh

This is the same type of analysis that predicted (back in the 80's) if population growth trends continued we would be out of food by 2010. We've since come up with more efficient ways to produce food and are in no danger of running out(I am of course not refering to the third world nations we continue to rape and pilage). I think it's more likely that we'll find an alternative energy source than suffer some cataclysmic (so what if I can't spell) civilization ending energy draught, can you say solar? Also...can I have your mailing address for the wedding invite and whatnot. Grassyass.

Well I certainly hope that's the case, and I firmly want to believe that people will just figure something out, but those websites paint a pretty bleak picture, countering the stuff that you said, about how long it would take to have a new energy source put in place, and how dependent on oil we are for so many things. I hope they're wrong, because if they're right, it certainly doesn't look good.
I sent you my mailing address, let me know if you don't get it for some reason.
