Just a brief entry before I scurry off to bed. After reading this entry on BoingBoing about the nerds/morans who are lining up to see Episode III outside the Mann Chinese, I noticed that the entry said that it's not going to be shown at the Mann Chinese. This is great news, because I knew that meant it was gonna be shown at the Arclight instead. Well, a quick peak at the Arclight's website revealed that, sure enough, they will be showing Episode III. Why is this good news? Because of the Arclight's assigned seating. Better to get your tickets for your preferred seat weeks in advance than have to deal with some huge line the day of the show to ensure you don't sit in the far corner of the theater. Thank god for assigned seating :smile
Update - This is too funny. The morans who lined up at the Mann's Chinese for tickets for Episode III are refusing to move! They want it to play at the Chinese because that's where the other 5 have played, and so they are refusing to move their line to the Arclight in protest (protest!? :lol). I guess that'll make it that much easier to get tickets online when the Arclight's website makes them available. Hopefully there will still be enough wackos there for the show at the Arclight, because the highlight of going to see Episode II at midnight was watching the guy with his homemade lightsaber (who had clearly been practicing with it) have a mock lightsaber battle with some other guy before the show. Conan needs to get Triumph over to interview the geeks at the Chinese ASAP!

Oh, what was that about a free Garbage ticket to the Wiltern for next Monday?

this raises the question, will geeks feel comfortable walking into the arclight dressed as a wookie?

In all seriousness, the fact that those geeks are waiting in line *at the wrong theatre* cracks me up. They've been told that the film will be at the Arclight, yet they're steadfast in waiting at the Chinese, *and* they've done a really nice job of insulting the Arclight employees to boot. Way to go!

Not in the round theater I hope. Ugh. That place gives me headaches. The other screens are fine, but the acoutstics in the dome are awful. Plus, I saw Godzilla there. Bad memories.
Although, I remember that the same thing happened when Phantom Menace or Clone Wars came out. It'll show at the Chinese. Trust me, the force is strong with those fans.

I've heard the fans saying that it happened with Episodes I and II, but if they already have a contract with the Arclight (and I'm told they do), then I don't imagine it will be at the Chinese. I've yet to see ANY movie show at both theaters, although I'm sure it could happen. Also, you know they'll put it in the dome, but they'll put it in other theaters as well. I'm no slave to the dome, I'll go see it in one of the smaller theaters with the stadium seats.
By the way John, do you have your plane tickets out here yet? I can't wait to see you guys again :grin

it bums me out that they're not showing it at the chinese because this is one of those rare instances where i actually enjoy waiting in line. it's a monumentally entertaining experience, and the chinese theater has a way better screen and audio than the arclight. the arclight dome is only good if you're sitting in just the right spot, and even then it has limitations, and probably won't be digitally projected. :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:uhoh:nono:roll:thumbsdown:lol:sad:smile:frown:eek:lol:blush:blush:yawn:thumbsup:evil:angry:yawn:blush:thumbsdown:roll:frown:smile:eek:eek:eek:eek:eek:eek:eek:eek:eek:sad:sad:sad:sad:sad:sad:sad:sad:sad:sad:sad:sad:sad:lol:blush:yawn:wink:thumbsup:evil:uhoh:nono:eek these don't cost any money right? :lol:lol:lol:lol:blush:yawn:wink:angry:angry:evil:thumbsup:uhoh:thumbsdown:nono:roll:frown:lol:lol:lol:blush:angry:yawn:yawn:thumbsdown:roll:frown:eek:eek:eek:eek:eek so pretty :uhoh:uhoh:uhoh:thumbsdown:roll:sad:sad:lol:blush:yawn:yawn:yawn:yawn:yawn:yawn:yawn:yawn:evil:evil:evil:angry:angry:wink:eek:nono:uhoh:thumbsdown:roll:roll:frown:nono:nono:nono:thumbsdown:lol:blush:angry:wink:frown:sad:smile:roll:uhoh:yawn:thumbsup:wink:blush:angry:evil:nono:roll:sad:frown:smile:eek:roll

I'm sure Lucas will insist that the Arclight digitially project it (unless he doesn't have that kind of pull anymore :lol). Also, at the Arclight, you don't have to see it in the dome, and for you, you big sourpuss, you don't have to pay for parking :wink Plus, the Star Wars nerds aren't leaving the line at the Chinese anyway, so you can still go up and hang with them if you so desire. Everybody wins! :grin
