New Company, Same Job

I'm sitting here listening to the soundtrack for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (which is still my favorite movie of the year) on my now fully loaded G5 (complete with 280 Gigs of storage and 2.25 Gigs of RAM). Let's just say I'm a very happy camper right now :grin

Today was the first time I've been at my job since September 12th, 2001 when I didn't use the phone system to clock in and out, and the reason is because today was my first day there where I was officially not an employee of my former company. Friday was the last day for that. Everything is the same for the time being though, with the exception of clocking in and out like that. The move to the new building doesn't take place till the week of August 23rd-27th (or so they tell me). I would assume at that point I will get a new work phone number and a new work email address and all of that. Anyway, other than that small detail, today was pretty boring: just a lot of work to do. I'll be pretty busy at work for at least the next week or so, and then I don't know if it will scale back at all in anticipation of the move or what. In any event, I'm looking forward to just getting this whole transition over with, cause I'm excited to see what life is gonna be like in the new building.

dude will u stop bragging about y'r new G5. Im kinna getting sick of it. I dont even know y your all getting excited about it. In about 4 months that crApple G5 of yours will as old as windows 3.1. U starting to sound like a geek dude.:lol
J/K Wil U know i luv u right. Just dont tell steve that b-coz he gets all jealous. QUEEEER BOOOOY:wink

I know if I had a new G5, I'd be talking about it nonstop... just like Will's doing right now.

I've got one and I bragged about it a bit. You'rs kicks mines ass now though. I need to get more RAM and another drive. I only have a GIG and a half annd a 150 ggig drive. I wish they supported regular IDE drives like the G4's did. I have a shitload of em sitting around I could use. Instead I have to use my external firewire 120 gig which gets me to 240 but it's not enough. I want one of the Terrabyte drives. They're only like $1100 but as I'm unemployed it's kinda tough :-)

Mine is a dual 2ghz but it's the first design which means it's hotter than hell and has a slower burner. Bah.

kino:

i got the commodore 64. AND IT KICK THAT G5'S ASS ANYTIME:lol

And here I am, limping along on a Dual 800 G4.

i think i have to agree with you about 'eternal sunshine of the spotless mind', terrible. for me, that was one of the most enjoyable theatrical experiences. just sitting back and drinking in the inventiveness. i highly recommend watching 'adaptation' again in anticipation of the upcoming 'spotless mind' dvd release.

iendive:

Dude! Talk about non sequitur!!! LOL

pao pao, you're going DOWN in halo, man. oh, wait, you're on my team. nevermind. please don't hit me.

hey, i already complimented terrible on his g5! sheesh.

Yams:

Steven, I think because Pao Pao is on your Halo team, you're more likely to frag her :lol

iendive:

You're both dead... you're so dead I will keep killing you even after you're down (which honestly is the best time to be hitting someone 'cause they can't fight back)
But it's just a game... except for Steven, since he's on my team I can't hit him in the game... I'ma justa gonna havta hit himma outsida de game har har!

iendive:

SMACK!!!!
The sounds of Pao Pao hitting Steven over the head.:lol

Ponnerbell:

Wait a minute here.

Please tell me that you have XBox live capabilities, because I am ready to roll! Bring it!!! If you can.

ps: MAC USERS DESERVE SMILIES. dangit.

Elvispanda, I'm on a Mac and I've been copying and pasting smilies.

Yams:

I'm sorry Steven :frown

I've covered this before though (a few times, I believe :lol), but it's not really up to me. I mean, if I was smart and could totally pull Movable Type apart I would, and that would fix it. But alas, I am not smart, so for all the smart people out there who don't surf the web on Internet Explorer, you'll have to go without smilies till Movable Type gets their act together.

**Please note that smilies on my blog is NOT a good enough reason to use Internet Explorer!! Don't use Internet Explorer unless you have no other choice because it is an open doorway to your computer for viruses and spyware!**

iendive:

Ponnerbell, are you crazy? Internet on the XBox? I have a free two month trial but I keep it in a lock box to which I have thrown away the key... I am that afraid of it... it talks to me at night from the lock box... it tells me "You know there are Sim communities online..." "There are people playing Halo in australia when all your friends in the US are sleeping..."
Ooh the evilness of it all!
Yo panda just type : and an emotion like this
:grin

iendive:

By the way I finally got hired, John!! Remember when we first talked about it? Ah the good 'ole days.... the innocence... the lunches at CCC...

So, Yamsy, is this the longest comment thread?

Yams:

No, this isn't the longest comment thread, although for a "legitimate" one I would say it has to be close. I had a couple entries that were clearly popular for when people typed in certain things on Google, and as a result I got frequent random comments. Some entries got those random comments so often, I closed the comments on them. I think the winner for most comments is the Yellowstone Supervolcano entry but if I hadn't closed the commments, I'm sure that the Rick Fox vs. Doug Christie fight entry would probably be "winning" right now. Other notables (before I closed the comments) were the entry about what your name means and my entry about how mad I was at the reviews for Like Mike.

Steven, you'd better watch out, you'd better not pout, 'cause the pao-paoinator is coming to LA... and if you kill the pao-paoinator in the game, the pao-paoinator takes a swing at you in real life. :grin
