Suffice it to say the Lakers got absolutely demolished tonight. LA set a new franchise record, for the second time this series, for fewest points ever in a playoff game. I could be wrong, but I think it's the only time the Lakers have ever scored less than 70 points in ANY game, at least since the advent of the 24 second clock some 50 years ago. I'll say this, the Lakers came out with no effort, but the reffing didn't help. The Pistons in this series have been allowed to play a LOT more physically on defense than the Lakers have. The clearest example of this is when you look at the number of free throws each team in this series has shot and how many fouls have been called on each team:
Lakers:
Called for 80 fouls in 3 games.
Pistons:
Called for 56 fouls in 3 games.
Lakers:
Shot 56 free throws in 3 games.
Pistons:
Shot 91 free throws in 3 games.
The Pistons have shot more free throws in any 2 games than the Lakers have in all 3. The refs gotta be consisent on both ends and the Lakers gotta come out with more effort. Otherwise LA's gonna be down 3-1 on Sunday with Detroit having the opportunity to close it out in 5 on Tuesday in Detroit. :frown
