Playoffs Are Set

This will be quick cause I wanna get to bed. Tonight after work I went over to Hollywood Billiards to meet up with Liz, Keith, Greenspan and Josh to watch the Lakers-Blazers game, which was the last game of the regular season and which was up in Portland. It was a pretty wild game, with both ups and downs (Malone got hurt, we'll know tomorrow how bad it is), and Kobe had two of the most amazing buzzer-beating 3-point shots. The first 3 pointer sent the game into OT, and it was a closely guarded, falling over, way off-balance wild shot that went in. The second one was with 1 second left in double-overtime with the Lakers down 2, and was the game winner. Amazingly the Sacramento Queens lost their last two games of the regular season, so the Lakers won the Pacific Division and are the #2 seed in the playoffs, and will open the playoffs this Saturday against the Houston Rockets at 7:30 pm at Staples Center in the first game of a best-of-seven game series. Houston plays the Lakers tough, and have about the only guy in the league who can go head-to-head with Shaq, but LA should win that series with Houston no doubt being happy just to be in the playoffs for the first time in years. LA will have it's work cut out for it this year though, with a road to the Finals that will almost surely go through San Antonio in the second round, and then probably either Minnesota (the West's #1 seed) or Sacramento. At the very least it should be pretty exciting :grin
