I'm up early today cause I went to bed really early last night, but I'll get to that in a bit. I just wanted to write a recap of the last almost week or so since I haven't really said anything lately about what all I've been doing (which isn't much, and nobody but me will really care, but someday I can read back on this and remember it). Last weekend I housesat at my Dad's, and it was great up there as it always is. His place is awesome up on top of that hill, and it is just fun to stay in such a nice place as opposed to my POS appartment here in Hollywood. While up there I finally did get to go see Monster with Rebecca, and we both agreed that it was quite good. The makeup on Charlize Theron wasn't that distracting (Fletch would say she splurged and spent 99 cents on a set of novelty teeth), but other than the fake teeth she just looked like how she probably looks without all the glamour makeup on. My only real problem with the movie is that it may have been a bit sympathetic to someone who was executed for being a serial killer, telling the story from her point of view, but it doesn't make her out to be a hero, or try to make it seem like she was right or anything. I'll leave it up to you to decide.
Also while up there at my Dad's I spent a couple days with Dave and Jen, going for dinner and just hanging out. They both seemed to be doing well, and it was good to see them as I hadn't hung out with them in a while. Also while staying at my Dad's I picked up The Crystal Method's new album Legion of Boom which is proving to be as good as their other two (but I'd stay away from seeing them live, since the two times I saw them they bored me and everyone else I went with). I also had Paola pick me up a copy of the Alien Quadrilogy boxset from Costco for $42, which isn't bad for a 9-disc set. I haven't watched much of it yet, since we worked on it for a month or two back in September or so, but I didn't have those movies on DVD and the bonus stuff is quite good, so I figured what the hell.
Monday I had the LAN-Party crew come over for a Halo fragfest at my Dad's place. Everyone showed up at about noon (except for Matt who has been fashionably late to both of our LAN Parties
). We took a long time in setting up though, because none of us could figure out how to switch video inputs on one of the TVs properly, but once we got set up we went and got lunch at The Hat, then returned to eat before commencing our killing spree. We started out ok, with my team winning the first two games, but I don't think we won again as it became evident to me that I suck at that game. Maybe I needed more sleep the night before, or maybe I need more practice (or maybe I'm just totally untalented), but man I stunk. Even so, it was still a lot of fun, and judging by the number of people who want to be included in the next time we do one of these get-togethers, it will probably be even moreso next time. And of course I'm anxiously looking forward to John's arrival out here so we can include him in the festivities.
Yesterday while I was at work Chris Grover (or as he likes to be called here "GroveDaddy") called me and said he was gonna be driving out from Arizona and wanted to get together with me when I got off work. Since I hadn't seen him since his farewell party, I was excited to see him again. I had to work pretty late on Tuesday, but I got home just in time for him to show up here (driving his Dad's Porsche, I might add), so I got in the Porsche and we went to Barney's Beanery for dinner (since Cookie will ask, I had a salad and half a hotdog). It was great to see Chris again, I really wish he still lived out here, but it's not what's best for him right now. It just sucks being so far away from some of my best friends like that, but what can you do?
Yesterday I had a lot to do at work, but thankfully I didn't have to stay late again, so I got home about in time to see that the Lakers game was on and they were losing in the second half. I was too tired to watch the game anyway though, so I decided to go to bed while the game was still in the 3rd quarter (which was around 8 o'clock), and as a result I woke up today at 7 am. I probably could have gone back to bed and slept another hour, but instead I decided to get up and write this entry and then go to breakfast at DuPars for some of the best pancakes in LA before heading on to work. Today for lunch we are planning on trying to go to Roscoe's for some chicken and waffles because Miki has never been there (and has talked about going for the last two years or more), so hopefully that will work out. Ok, this entry is long enough, laettner

I can't wait to hear your reaction about Bennifer being no longer (i.e. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are no longer a couple). Will it be a "big grin" or will it be a "roll eyes?" ^_^

They're not together anymore? I guess they figured it was no longer helping either of their careers. Hopefully The Butterfly Effect will bomb this weekend and Ashton Kutcher and Demi Willis will split up so we don't have to hear about those idiots anymore either.

"Ben and Jen Call It Quits
Hollywood's hottest couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have ended their high-profile romance, after months of speculation. The stars split on Tuesday, amid persistent rumors that they - who were apart while Affleck, 31, attended the Sundance Film Festival and the European premieres of his film Paycheck earlier this month - were growing apart. J.Lo's publicist says, 'I am confirming the reports that Jennifer Lopez has ended her engagement to Ben Affleck. At this difficult time, we ask that you respect her privacy.' While Affleck was overseas, Lopez, 34, was seen partying in Miami, Florida, with her old flame Sean 'P Diddy' Combs - and going out without her 6.1-carat pink-diamond engagement ring. Combs and Lopez both denied any romantic involvement. Just a day after her split from Affleck, Lopez was spotted out at West Hollywood restaurant Morton's with pals. The pair's elaborate September nuptials in Montecito, California, were called off at the last minute 'due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding'. They never officially set another date for the anticipated ceremony. Lopez and Affleck, who met while filming the critically-panned movie Gigli in spring 2002, became a couple in July that year as Lopez's marriage to Cris Judd - her second - collapsed. Affleck and Lopez's second onscreen collaboration, Jersey Girl, will hit screens on March 19."
