Edited for TV

Having spent most of the last week or two in hotels, I have to say the one thing I miss most about not being at my apartment is my pay cable channels. In the times when I'm in the room (as I am now), I have to watch all the usual cable stuff, and it fucking blows. Both in Vegas and here the one pay channel was HBO, which is ok, but with pay cable channels it only really works if you've got tons of them, cause any single pay channel usually has nothing but shit on, so you need the extra-wide variety so you can find the gems out there to watch (like "Bio-Dome" or "Swept Away" ). Anyway, so since Bryant Gumble's Wide World of Sports or something is on HBO, I flipped around to see what else was on and came across an edited-for-TV version of "Chasing Amy" and it is fucking hilarious! I love a movie that is heavily centered around "dick and fart jokes" and all kinds of sexual scenarios be edited for TV. I just got through watching them edit to hell the whole ode-to-Jaws cunnilingus injury scene, and couldn't help but laugh:

"Shouldn't you say 'take her down' or at least modify the term 'hump' with something like 'fist'?"

Pure comedy. Anyway, I'm off to get lunch. Laettner :-)

I guess you really need those premium channels to have on in the background. Isn't that how you managed to see Bio Dome in the first place (wink-wink)?

LOL

If you get bored, maybe you can find a real Tyler Texas BBQ.

What? no dvd drive on your dad's pc? worse yet, you didn't bring any with you?

Tsk!

Yams:

Actually, as embarrassing as this is, I first saw Bio-Dome at the second-run theater in college (or as we called it, the 'fitty-cent theater'). Colorado Springs was pretty thin on entertainment, and as such we made our way out to that theater rather frequently. In spite of the fact that the film would break frequently, it was still kinda fun. Bio Dome was awful though, but in spite of this I can't really defend why I've watched pieces of it here and there on cable. Trust me when I say it's not my first choice when I see it's on.

Also, yes I do have a DVD player on my Dad's laptop, and have thought about breaking out a movie; but just like at home, the TV is on but I'm not really paying it much attention. It's just sort of background ambience for me, especially if a computer is around. If I get a strong urge to sit down and watch a movie from start to finish, then I'll probably go to the laptop and turn the TV off.

I'm sure your admission about Bio-Dome raised a few eyebrows in QC. I'm sure Cookie got a hearty chuckle out of it.

will is mankind evolved. in the future, man will not be satisfied with one glowing box. man will require one glowing box to focus on, and one glowing box showing lesser television for ambience. i have seen the future, and it is terrible.

bob c:

dont be afraid of evolution. It will always be a constant.

You should check out these reviews of BioDome via MetaCritic (link via Fark). Apparently it has their "worst composite score." ^_^
