Terrible Turkeys

Happy post-Thanksgiving everyone. Since nobody has work today, I'm sure nobody will read this or participate, so I'm gonna go with a pretty random combination here. I figure in keeping with the Thanksgiving turkey thing, I would offer up two delicious turkeys of the film variety and let you all choose, so here you go::

WHAT'S MORE TERRIBLE:

or

?

Two legends of 80's barroom cheese. You be the judge as to which will triumph in this test of terrible!

Ponnerbell:

Cocktail is more terrible. Dalton is the best!

See, if you had moved Terrible Friday to Terrible Wednesday, you would've had more of a response! I anticipate the response will be just as tepid on Christmas week.

Yams:

I don't care about the response, I only care about which is more terrible. There are always other terribles, after all

iendive:

Holy crap, I fear I'm stumped on this one. I guess I'll say Cocktail since I actually spent money to see it (rental), while roadhouse I caught on cable... so I guess I also spent money on that, but it wasn't voluntary... I had my hands tied, my eyelids forced open with needles... like in Dario Argento's "Opera"... brrrr

Tonya:

Hands down Roadhouse, Tom Cruise is way hotter than Patrick Swayze hands down.... Plus Cocktail had Elisabeth Shue and I really liked her...
Happy Post Thanksgiving to you....

Yams:

The answer is that "Cocktail" is more terrible. First off, Tom Cruise stinks. I mean, Swayze does too, but at least Swayze's career has been basically over for a while (those who had to do QC on "Black Dog" notwithstanding ), while Cruise keeps hanging around. Second, the bad guys in "Road House" are much better bad guys, being armed with a monster truck and living in a house with a bunch of stuffed trophy animals from hunting trips and whatnot. Meanwhile the bad guy in "Cocktail" (Elisabeth Shue's dad) lives in a penthouse in New York and is armed with his checkbook. Not too intimidating. Third, even though in both movies the best friend dies (Sam Elliott in "Road House", Bryan Brown in "Cocktail"), Sam Elliott goes out like a champ dying in a fight while Bryan Brown kills himself cause he's not rich anymore. What a wuss. Finally, Dalton in "Road House" deals with the bad guys appropriately, by ripping a guy's throat out at the end, while Tom Cruise's big finale is tearing up a check and some bad poetry. So in summation, "Cocktail" is way, way more terrible.

iendive:

Wow... you know these two movies, like, really well... and I mean freakish attention to detail... kinda makes a person wonder... "The lady doth protest too much, methinks"

GroveDaddy:

I think the real question is, "When can we see these two midgets duke it out?"

Yams:

I wouldn't have posted about them if I didn't know them pretty well. Although it's been a couple years since I saw either of them, I've got a good memory for movies and remember them pretty well; but I have seen each of these movies a couple times over the years. I think I even saw "Road House" in theaters

Tonya:

Ok so first off Tom Cruise does stink that's for certain, besides Risky Business I don't think I can name one good flick he's been in, well I did like Minority Report, ok but aside from that, I only chose Cocktail cause well, we get to look at him, right ladies? and I'd much rather look at Tom than Patrick, case closed ;) I mean they're both rotten, but I did like the big barroom brawl scene but that chick in Roadhouse blows and Elisabeth Shue was cool ;)
Ok me thinks this lady does protest too much.... night all :)
