I saw "The Matrix Revolutions" tonight, and I have to say, I don't think I liked it very much. I don't really know though. To be honest, at the end of the movie I was more confused than anything, but I was definitely disappointed. I'm reluctant to say it was total shit just because I've been known to do that before and then later change my mind, so who knows. I get the feeling that even if I see it again and do eventually decide that I end up liking it, there will still be things that I am very disappointed by. I'm not gonna spoil it for those who haven't seen it by talking specifics, but I'll basically just say that with "Reloaded" I felt like it was a good set up, that introduced a lot of interesting ideas and characters and I was curious to see what they were all going to mean and where it was all going to go. Unfortunately, I felt that ultimately they generally meant nothing and it didn't go anywhere. Maybe it just didn't go where I wanted it to go, and I'm judging it based on that, but I really am disappointed that many of the things that were introduced and alluded to were never resolved. So there you go. For those who figured I'd like it no matter what (hell, I almost wondered if I would too), apparently that's not the case. Really I'm just mainly undecided and confused. I will see it again, although I'm not really in any rush to, but when I do hopefully I'll decide whether I do in fact hate it, or whether it was just that I missed the point this time.
I will say this: I would go see any other movie that the Warchowski brothers decided to make. I think they are very talented filmmakers, and they have a very interesting visual style. I really just feel like, unfortunately, they made the original "Matrix" expecting that to be the entire story, and when it was such a hit they couldn't turn down the cash which they no doubt were paid to make the last two movies. Because of this, I think they said to each other "ok, we're gonna make two more movies, but what the hell should they be about?" Really the end of the first movie is not a great place to start from if you're not really sure where you're gonna go, or at least it's a very hard place to start, at least that's what I think. They probably should have just done what the story seemed to dictate and just had Neo and co. wake everyone in the Matrix up and have the power plant shut down and then just had man and machine go to war. It would have been pretty empty and predictable, but I think it would have been better than what they did. Anyway, needless to say I'm rather disappointed. I feel like they kinda sucked all the meaning out of it all. I guess the first one still kinda stays good like it originally was, and these last two movies don't really affect it that much. But this one definitely killed a lot of the excitement I had about the last one. I placed my trust in this story to be well thought out and to have a definite meaningful ending that they were aiming for, but ultimately I don't think they did. Too bad.

Will,
Just wanted to say a big thank you to you, Koga and Riggs for saving two of the best seats at the Mann's Chinese for Kurt and me last night. We really appreciated it.
