Seven Days

I saw "The Ring" last night, and I have a question: am I a total wuss cause I thought it was really pretty scary? I was pretty scared while watching it, but not like it was making me jump, more like it was just making me uneasy; but afterwards I had a hard time not thinking about it. I even had a dream about the movie and then thought about it this morning when I woke up. I do wonder if it would have been scary to me if I hadn't watched it alone and on a TV screen. Its weird, cause looking back on it I know there were at least a few problems with it, things just basically unexplained (which made it reminiscent of an X-Files episode in that way), but for whatever reason it really just stuck with me, and I wanted to comment on it. I won't say anything about the movie for people who may not have seen it, but I just wanted to know if I was the only one who was scared by it or not.

Pussy.

According to you, Joss Whedon's work is scary, so I don't know how to rate The Ring on your scale of scariness. :P

Yams:

Joss Whedon's work isn't scary. The fact that people enjoy Joss Whedon's work, now THAT is scary

I still have to post the photo of the Smallville fan from last night who was fully dressed as Christopher Reeve-era Superman, complete with the hair and tights. Now *that's* scary! ^_^

..."about the mvoie" should be "about the movie"

too bad you didn't watch the japanese version first, it's by far better. i didn't really care for the american one, but now i'm being one of those guys who just says, "the foreign one is better because it's, you know, foreign."

fhqwhgads:

you're still puss puss.

Yams:

I'm willing to watch the Japanese version. On the DVD there were a couple clips from it and they looked pretty fucking scary (specifically a shot of Sadako's eyes). I doubt I'll have my opinion of the original ruined because I saw the American one first though. A good movie is a good movie, regardless of what pre-conceptions you might have going in. Over repeat viewings (for me at least) you really find out how you feel about a movie, and for me that usually changes with each viewing, sometimes for good and sometimes for bad. I already want to watch "The Ring" again, but for all I know I may hate it the second time. You know me though, I'm game to watch just about anything.

all i could see was naomi, was there a movie happening around her? oh yeah, the crazy horse and stuff. it was crap!

I saw The Ring last year when it was in the theatre, and I have to say that it freaked out my perceptions of the world, in general, for about the next twenty-four hours. And, yes, I kept having nightmares that woke me up throughout the night (something usually unheard of for me, the deepest of all sleepers)!
