The more I read about "The Matrix Reloaded", the more appreciation I have for that movie, and as you know I liked it to begin with. Now there is a website with the whole conversation between Neo and The Architect transcribed so you can read it. That in and of itself was fascinating, but since I got that link off of FARK, there was naturally a message board about it, and from what I read earlier it was a pretty damn interesting and deep discussion about what was going on in that movie, and speculation about the next one. Once again, if you've seen the movie, I can't reccommend both of those links to you enough, because they're truly fascinating. I really am a fan of a movie with that many subtle touches, because I know that as I watch it more and more I'll have all new thoughts and questions about it each time I see it. Still no word on the official IMAX release for it yet, by the way.

okay, this reads better than it plays. maybe it's the placement or something, the CHOICE (sorry) of putting this scene at a point of exhaustion and disappointment regarding the seemingly endless number of characters introduced in the beginning (each with their own mildly disappointing 'thought for the day' wisdom) and the inanity of some of the characters (the virtual orgasm thing leaps to mind, also the needing to kiss neo to feel that lovin' feeling). don't get me wrong, there was enough of that sweet sweet action to make me dig the experience in the theater, but the 'episode I'-ish opening bit. maybe sebulba is the real 'one'. if so, we're all in deep pudu, or indugu, or whatever.

I think its not a case of it reading better than it plays, its a case of it being very complex dialogue and maybe hard to process all at once (maybe that's the same thing as what you're saying though). My general comment though for people who thought the Wachowskis didn't know what they were doing, or that it was slapped together or whatever, is that, in my opinion anyway, people who say that probably just didn't get it. My guess is people just went in expecting soley an action film, but what's so intriguing about the movie to me is that its really a very subtle philosophical discussion masquerading as a summer blockbuster, slam/bang action type movie. Or as I said in my original review, for the people who thought it too convoluted, complex or who just didn't want to think, go see it again. It makes sense, its just not readily accessible on the surface. And what's not to like about a film that doesn't spoon-feed the viewer?
