The Lakers Deserved This Loss

The Lakers for most of the game tonight looked like they could not have cared less. They did not look like they started to try until there were maybe 5 minutes left in the third quarter. And even then, even with that little effort, the Lakers had great shots to win the game when the refs basically did everything but gift-wrap it for them in the overtime, and even with Kevin Garnett fouling out immediately in overtime the Lakers still could not step up. It was almost like once Garnett fouled out the Lakers figured they had it in the bag, and quit playing again, and that was in overtime. An absolutely appalling display by the Lakers. The lazy attitude has caught up with them. When you're doing handstands on the edge of a cliff, its just a matter of time before you fall off.

Do I think the Lakers are done? No. I still think they'll win this series. As usually happens with them, they get pushed to the brink, and then when it looks like all is lost, they come through. But tonight they deserved to lose, and that's the truth. They keep playing like this, and they're gonna deserve to be on vacation in a week or so.
