Ok, its my birthday today, and not only do my Lakers lose a game that they easily had won (and they lose it in embarrassing fashion), but my football team (the Giants) also lose a 14 pt-lead in the last quarter, and this comes after my college football team (Notre Dame) has the worst loss in their history yesterday to my least favorite team (USC). Now I don't really care about football too much, but still, kinda nice to have those two teams win, you know? I am pissed about the Lakers losing though. They must be close to their worst start since they moved to LA some 40+ years ago.
Ok, so I went to my Dad's for my birthday today, and everything there was great, I had a great time with my family, had a great dinner (my Dad made me one of the tastiest lobsters ever!), and a nice cake and all. But afterwards, I came home and as I got here, I noticed all the power was out everywhere. This means I couldn't get into my place at all, because the gate to the garage is electronic. So I figured I'd go gas up my car and deposit my birthday checks and come back and hopefully they'd have the power back on. But the power is out everywhere, which is damn scary when there are no lights in Hollywood with all the traffic around here. So the traffic was really bad, and its scary hoping I don't get in an accident going through an intersection with no traffic light. But on top of that, they had the Hollywood Christmas parade today, so most of the streets around here were blocked off, and there were pedestrians everywhere. So just getting across town took about 3 times longer than it should have. But I got my stuff done, got back home, and had to reset all my clocks, re-boot my computers and all that. And here's a nice little bonus: having been out all day on my birthday, no doubt people called me and left messages, but since the power went out, I lost all those messages. So if you read this and you called me, sorry, but I didn't get it :(
Still, it wasn't a bad day I guess. Just more bad stuff then you'd want on a birthday. Oh well. Just venting a bit ;-)
